Emmentaler 150g slices

This cheese is produced in the central cantons of Switzerland. It is a traditional hard cheede made from cow’s milk. The aroma is sweet with tones of fresh-cut hay. The flavour is fruity, not without a tone of acidity. The cheese tastes delicious with a glass of wine, for example Jura Blanc. Emmentaler has the AOP (Original Swiss) trademark.

The official quality marks AOP and PGI are reserved for traditional products with deep-rooted regional origins. Once protected designations have been registered by the Swiss Federal Office of Agriculture, they may only be used for products that meet the specified requirements regarding origin, production and quality. Independent certification centres check that these standards are adhered to.
